Trevince Garden, Gwennap

Wooden door in walled garden, open to reveal a view of the vegetable garden beyond

Today I managed to sneak in a trip to the Trevince Estate garden and cafe, just before it shuts for the season. Planted more than 200 years ago in the wealthy mining heart of Cornwall, and with a working veg plot contained in a walled garden (be still, my beating heart, the stuff of my dreams!), it’s a small but perfectly formed jewel and worth a visit. Lunch at the cart shed cafe was homemade tart and salad and on the way out I treated myself to a pot of freshly harvested chillis from the produce stall.
