View from St Agnes Beacon

On a clear day you feel as though you can see all of Cornwall laid out before you from the top of St Agnes Beacon.

Down to St Ives bay with Godrevy lighthouse, the massive radar globe at Goonhilly Earth Station, Carn Brea at Redruth, to the china clay pits at St Austell where the Eden Project is situated, and then up the coast past the 2 mile stretch of sandy beach at Perranporth to a distant view of Padstow lighthouse.

Lit at various points in history, including as a warning of invasion during the Napoleonic wars and is central to the local legend of Giant Bolster, who is said to have been able to stand with one foot on the Beacon, and the other on Carn Brea, 6 miles away.
