The property is a short walk (20 mins) to the centre of St Agnes, which has all the facilities you could need, including a number of public houses and eateries, fishmongers, butchers, florist, art galleries and convenience stores. Known as something of a surfers Mecca, there are a number of beaches in the surrounding area to suit any taste, from the wild and rocky Chapel Porth to the gently sloping family favourite, Blue Flag Beach Porthtowan. If surfing is on the agenda, boards and wetsuits are available for hire from the shop in the village, as well as lessons if required.

'Absolutely perfect, my kids loved it'

St Agnes boasts a great calendar of local events, from the Victorian Fayre Day, the famed St Agnes Carnival, Bolster Day and for a laugh, the annual Easter Sunday dog race (featuring a runner dressed as the Easter Bunny!). Situated conveniently only a few miles off the A30, Whitegate is within easy reach of the City of Truro with its historic cathedral, the evocative streets of St Ives with its array of galleries and sculpture gardens, The Eden Project near St Austell and the beautiful South West Coastal Path. There are a number of gardens to visit nearby, including Trelissick near Truro with its stunning Spring flower show, Trevarno and Heligan, with its jungle and kitchen garden always proving firm favourites.

'The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and the weather was amazing!'

There is also a wealth of cultural activities, with the cliffside theatre at Minack operating during summer months, a variety of music festivals, exhibitions at the Tate St Ives and the nearby Hall for Cornwall in Truro offering an ever-changing array of shows.  St Agnes is ideally placed to explore all of Cornwall or just stay close and soak up the atmosphere of a village which attracts a high number of repeat visitors every year.
